RENOVATIONS

Morphy, Makofsky, Inc. provided structural engineering services for the construction of a new three-story school. The building consists of post-tensioned eight-inch thick two-way concrete slab for the second, third, and roof levels. The two-way slab is supported by cost-in-place concrete columns.  The entire structure is auger cast piles with a forty-ton allowable capacity

The first floor is raised approximately three feet above the adjacent grade to comply with base flood elevations. The new framing provides spaces for high school classrooms, laboratories, Gymnasium, and a cafeteria.

Small auxiliary buildings were constructed with structural steel roofs bearing on concrete masonry block walls.
