TECHNOLOGY

MMI implements the most efficient and up to date engineering technologies in order to provide a higher quality of service for our clients. MMI uses the latest civil and structural design programs to provide designs that are safe, conforms with the latest building codes and meets our client's expectations.

BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an integrated process for collaboratively exploring a project’s key physical and functional characteristics digitally, before breaking ground. BIM is characterized by the early development of information-rich, coordinated, 3D models that remain at the center of the workflow throughout a project’s life cycle, from planning and design through construction. BIM enables MMI to work collaboratively and to communicate efficiently with the entire project team in order to prevent conflicts from occurring, minimizing RFI’s and Change Orders, and saving valuable time and money.

MMI provides BIM services to support our clients’ needs in the Structural and Civil engineering disciplines.  MMI’s BIM services focus on enhancing project quality by utilizing 3D modeling tools along with 10 years of BIM experience.

MMI continues to advance both its BIM and CAD expertise through an employee evaluation coupled with internal and external training in the Structural and Civil disciplines.  BIM project assignments are distributed thoughtfully to provide our technicians, designers, and engineers hands-on project experience with BIM methodology and the appropriate BIM software application.  Distribution of project workload provides more team members the opportunity to be involved in BIM projects and increases the number of employees with actual BIM project experience.

At MMI we stay focused on keeping current with industry trends by using several tools that are integral to our BIM process including:

  • Autodesk Dynamo

  • Google SketchUp

  • Bluebeam Revu

  • MicroStation

  • Rhino

MMI’s project experience, employee development, and ongoing BIM research and content creation allows us to design and engineer to fully support project needs.  Our understanding of the differences between BIM projects and traditional design, engineering, and construction projects allows us to collaborate with owners, architects, contractors, and other engineers more effectively contributing to more successful BIM projects.

  • Autodesk Revit

  • Autodesk Collaboration for Revit

  • Autodesk Civil 3D

  • Autodesk Navisworks

  • Autodesk AutoCAD

ANALYSIS SOFTWARE

MMI’s main priority is providing civil and structural designs that will be safe, conform with the latest building codes and will meet all of the client’s expectations. MMI’s analytical software is implemented throughout all phases of a project’s design. MMI uses its structural analytical software to aid in the design of multiple projects ranging from simple one-story structures to complex multi-story high-rises and parking garages. MMI also uses its structural analytical software to aid in evaluating existing structures. MMI uses its civil analytical software to aid in the several designs ranging from site development to stormwater management and green infrastructure.  The analytical software enables MMI to provide an efficient, cost effect design that will meet all of the client’s requests.

MMI continues to advance its computer aided design expertise through internal and external employee training in both Structural and Civil disciplines.  Multiple structural and civil design projects are assigned thoughtfully to provide our engineers with hands-on project experience with the appropriate analytical software.  Distribution of project workload provides project engineers the opportunity to be involved and get experience with simple and larger scale design projects.

At MMI we stay focused on keeping current with industry trends by using several tools that are integral to our civil and structural design processes including:

  • STAAD

  • PCA

  • Autodesk Dynamo

  • Autodesk Civil 3D

  • XP-Drainage
