LSU DENTAL SCHOOL
MMI provided structural and civil engineering services for the 3-story 70,000+ square foot addition within the existing campus. The new facility consists of a cast in place mildly reinforced concrete structure that is pile supported. Multi-tiered tie-ins between the new and existing buildings are being added to link the campus together. The scope of work also includes renovations to the existing buildings and involves upgrades to the mechanical plant such as new generators, cooling towers, a fuel tank storage platform, and relocation of all basement equipment and services to the new facility.
MMI provided full site development civil design services in the phased building program to accommodate new construction without disrupting day-to-day operations of the existing facility. A temporary gravel paving parking lot was constructed to meet parking requirements of the campus before the start of construction. Site grading and drainage design was prepared considering future connectivity and development.
