IBERIA BANK STAIR

MMI provided structural engineering services related to the new monumental stair at the Pan American Life Building. The new open stair serviced an existing atrium and provided access from the 20th floor down to the 19th floor.

A few of the unique features of this project included a 6 foot cantilever for the landing at the 20th floor, glass handrails attached directly to the stair stringers, cast stone treads and landings, and a column free structural support system. Additionally, close coordination for attachment of new framing was required due to the existing post-tensioned floor system.
