WYES TELEVISION STUDIO AND OFFICES

MMI provided structural and civil engineering for a new 24,000 square foot studio and office space (Phase I).  The first floor is designated for the WYES television studio. It was heavily reinforced to minimize vibrations in the studio caused by production vehicles.  The second and third floors were constructed for typical office space, computer rooms, and equipment rooms.

Phase II of this project included a new 60,000 square foot, 3-story building adjoining the Phase I building.  Similar to the Phase I building, a soundproof recording studio was built within, but segregated from, the new building.  The new building construction included a pile supported concrete first floor and composite steel framed upper floors.
