Wayne Damico  l  Structural Technician

As a graduate from Archbishop Shaw High School in 1975, when the oil field was booming, Wayne Damico entered the workforce, as many did in those days, instead of electing to go to college. In 1975, he started taking night classes at Delgado Community College for Engineering Graphics and received his Associate's Degree in 1992.

While working at Hydril Co. as a heavy equipment operator, his drafting career started as a Board Draftsman drawing isometric pictures of tools and mechanical equipment used for threading tubing in the oil field. An Engineering Department was started where he worked as a Mechanical, Structural and Layout Design Draftsman. He also worked for Gretna Cabinet Works, Regis Radiator Service, Lee Industries, Tubular Threading Inc. and many others during this time to help make ends meet during the downturn in the Oil Industry.

In 1992 to 2000, he worked at AWD Corporation as a AutoCAD operator and Board Draftsman designing and detailing shop drawings for Architectural Millwork and Yacht Interiors. He also worked as Assistant Project Manager.

In 2000, he started working at Morphy Makofsky, Inc. as a AutoCAD operator. Presently he is learning and working with Revit and AutoCAD as a Structural Technician.
