MMI provided full structural engineering design services for the development of the senior housing facility. Design activities include post-tensioned, cast-in-place concrete design for two five-story structures with 150 one or two-bedroom apartments slated for senior housing, wood design for fourteen one and two-story family garden homes and concrete masonry design for a maintenance facility. The housing complex is comprised of eight buildings connected by exterior porches. The design challenges include using three different pile types for one site and incorporating multiple materials on each structure. Foundation modifications were also designed for eccentric loads caused by piles being driven out of tolerance.
