MMI provided engineering services for the renovation and strengthening of existing 100 year old masonry to withstand 150 mph winds. State of the art technology was used to investigate and design the necessary reinforcing. The study and application of existing design principles were used and expanded upon to develop new design methods. Multiple design solutions were studied and analyzed before a final solution was put in place that satisfied the limitations of the existing structures along with locations of existing utilities and the constraint of not disrupting the ongoing building operations.
