Leon is a chartered and registered professional engineer, with over six years’ experience within the water resources industry in Australia and has over 12 months’ experience working as a civil and water resources engineer on urban development and infrastructure projects in New Orleans. Leon has four years of experience in the detailed drainage design of major highways projects and has extensive technical experience in hydrological and hydraulic modeling, conceptual and detailed site-based stormwater management plans, and Erosion and Sedimentation Control (ESC) design. Leon also has project management and marketing experience.

In the short time Leon has been at MMI, he has provided civil engineering services on a wide range of urban development projects including Tulane University Business School, Audubon Park Zoo, City Park, and numerous schools, apartment buildings, hotels and other residential and commercial developments located within the greater New Orleans area. Leon is frequently in contact with numerous organizations, including the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD), City of New Orleans Safety and Permits, City Planning Commission, Parks and Parkways, Sewerage and Water Board (S&WB) and the State Fire Marshal (SFM) to ensure that these projects achieve regulatory compliance without experiencing significant delays. Leon has also coordinated projects with the Department of Public Works (DPW) in New Orleans, Jefferson Parish and St Bernard Parish.

Leon is particularly interested in green infrastructure and regularly attends conferences, workshops and industry networking events. Leon has six years’ experience in Water Sensitive Urban Design in Australia and has designed numerous bioretention basins / swales, infiltration basins, wetlands and pervious pavements.
