New Orleans Center for Creative Arts :: New Orleans, LA
Morphy Makofsky, Inc. provided the structural engineering for this unique educational facility. Located on the Mississippi River the site incorporates several historically significant warehouse buildings, including one of the oldest shed warehouses remaining in New Orleans. The two oldest warehouse buildings were preserved by supporting the interior structure of the building so that crumbling exterior masonry walls could be rebuilt. The design weaves classrooms, studios and performance facilities into a campus environment. |
